Today is the National Park Service's birthday and to honor it, you can score free entrance to all of the National Parks across the country today! So any of the National Parks that usually charge an entrance fee, commercial tour fees, transportation entrance fees, etc, will be free!
What a nice way to spend the day! If you're near any of our great National Parks you can really carpe dieum! And if you're not sure how far away the nearest park is, you can find your closest locations here. You'd be surprised just how many there are probably within miles of you!
And today isn't the only day every year that are free admission to the National Parks. Mark your calendar for these other days throughout the year that the parks are entrance fee free!
- January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- February 20: Presidents' Day
- April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
- August 25: National Park Service Birthday
- September 30: National Public Lands Day
- November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend
