While the Ulta Beauty return policy is a pretty customer friendly one, there are some common questions that get asked so we'll be rounding up the most common questions with answers.

What Is Ulta's Return Policy?
The Ulta return policy simplified is if you aren't 100% satisfied with your purchase and you're still within the 60 day return window, you'll receive a full refund.
Pretty short and sweet too, the company allows you 60 days from the original date of purchase to receive a full refund on your purchase from Ulta just bring your item to the store with your receipt (or packing slip if you ordered online) to start your return.
Are you beyond the 60 day return window? Don't worry you can still get a refund that will be in the form of Ulta Beauty in-store credit so keep that 60 day window in mind.
You also have the option of exchanging the product for the same item, no payment is required for an exchange just bring in the item you want to exchange. If you want to exchange for an item that costs more or less, you'll need to cover the difference (or they will if lower).
Can I Return Used Items To Ulta?
Yes you can return used items to Ulta.
The policy states that if at any time you are not happy with your purchase you can return it, so if you aren't happy after you've used it, return it.
Just have your receipt ready and you'll get a full return as long as the purchase was within the 60 day return policy window, if so you're fine returning used items to Ulta.
Can I Return Without a Receipt at Ulta?
Unfortunately, the receipt is required for most Ulta returns.
Now the flip side to this is when you sign up to become a ULTAmate Rewards Memberthey can look your receipt up in the future when you lose it (or if you're already a member they can).
If you ordered online from Ulta.com you can also use the packing slip that came with your order instead of a normal receipt so that make be an option for you. Otherwise a receipt is required.
What About Returns Without Packaging?
In most cases, Ulta will accept returns without packaging.
As long as you have your receipt they'll happily process your return without the packaging that came with the item, just make sure you're still in that 60 day return window.
Show your receipt and even without packaging, Ulta will process the return!
Will Ulta Accept Returns After 60 Days?
If you're considering making a return after 60 days, it's still worth doing so.
After 60 days Ulta accepts returns but the refund will be in-store credit beyond the 60 day window.
Still not a bad option if you're looking to return something you just haven't tried on, you also have the option of making an exchange for the same item or make an exchange for an item that costs more or less (but you, or Ulta will cover the difference with the exchange).
What Is the Ulta Online Return Policy?
Great question, simple answer it's the same as the normal Ulta Beauty Return Policy.
The online return policy just like the in-store policy is still 60 days, the only drawback with online returns is the customer is responsible for the return and shipping fees.

Can You Return Online Orders In-Store?
Yes, you can return online Ulta Beauty orders to any Ulta store nearby.
We actually think this is the better way to return when ordering online from Ulta, to avoid shipping costs you can bring your item into any Ulta Beauty store for a return.
It's nice to not have to worry about shipping an item (especially if you're not familiar with the the process) so if you'd like to return an item you purchased online just bring it in-store.
What About Returns On Used Makeup?
Yes you can return used makeup (like any other product) to Ulta Beauty.
According to the Ulta return policy, if you are not satisfied with your purchase at any time, you qualify for a return and that includes makeup!
So if you're wondering if Ulta will accept returns for that foundation you just purchased, they will. As long as you're within the 60 day return window you'll get a full refund, outside of that you'll get in-store credit for used makeup returns, you can also choose to exchange if you'd prefer.
Keep in mind you'll want to bring your receipt if you are not a rewards member, if you are a rewards member your transaction should show up when you provide your phone number.
